Sodexo has launched “Meatless Monday,” a national program to add the option of plant-based food to its menus every week. This month, over 900 hospital client accounts have taken part in the initiative. Sodexo corporate and government clients will soon have menus and materials to support the program, and this fall, the program will officially begin in Sodexo-served colleges and schools. Meatless Mondays is intended to promote health and wellness through a varied, well-rounded diet.
More than 120 global jewelry professionals attended a seminar on corporate social responsibility, conducted by the World Jewellery Confederation Education Foundation. The seminar traced the development of CSR in the jewelry industry from the start of the conflict diamond crisis in the 1990s to the industry’s commitment to the United Nations to help fulfill the U.N.’s Millennium Development Goals. The seminar was organized by the global gem and jewelry trade body C.I.B.J.O.
