Press Release

Walmart has been selected as one of the Washington Green 50 list by Seattle Business Magazine as part of its annual Green Washington Awards competition. The Green Awards program recognizes companies that show a commitment to making their business sustainable. Walmart was noted for improving its fleet efficiency by 65 percent, recycling more than 31,000 tons of materials last year in Washington, and committing to sell more green products to its customers.

Staples for Students has raised $810,000 for school supplies for students in need. The fourth annual campaign, just concluded, was a partnership with Do Something, a nonprofit group, and the cast of the ABC TV series, “Pretty Little Liars.” The show’s actresses joined teen volunteers in an event to fill backpacks with school supplies for Boys and Girls Club members in Los Angeles.
