Press Release

Hello, I’m Emily Polk, and these are your CSR Minute headlines for Thursday, December 2nd:

The Bovespa stock exchange has added the mining company Vale and the Santander bank to its Business Sustainability Index. The Brazilian exchange has a market capitalization of $1.4 billion and trades the shares of 450 companies, making it the 10th largest in the world. The Bovespa Business Sustainability Index is composed of 38 companies from 18 sectors that incorporate sound business sustainability strategies into their practices. Their combined market value is $677 billion, half the total market value of all companies listed on the exchange.

The first-ever Worcestereshire Ambassadors’ Awards for CSR were given out last week at an event in the British Midlands county. Local businesses were selected for their long-term commitment and the variety of ways in which CSR is integrated into their businesses. DHL was named winner in the community category; Jutexpo won the environmental award; and Festival Housing won in the “workplace and staff” department.
