Press Release

Herman Miller has released its 2010 “Better World” Report. It highlights the furniture company’s gains in supplier diversity: Herman Miller now spends over 14 percent of its supply chain vending with minority-owned businesses. The company also reports 100 percent green electrical energy credits; a 7th consecutive year on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index; a 100 percent score in the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index; and its 3rd consecutive year on the Fortune 100 “Best Companies to Work for List.”

The Container Store re-affirmed its commitment to its “employees first” stakeholder principle by hosting a holiday event for 87 workers from around the country in Dallas, the company’s headquarters. Employees who have worked for the Container Store for 10, 15, 20, and 30 years were honored. The Container Store is a supporter of the Conscious Capitalism Alliance, and has sponsored a “conscious capitalism” conference for 50 CEOs and thought leaders.
