Switch(@Liberate), a St. Louis-based marketing agency, raised $16,000 dollars for the Independence Center of St. Louis with its holiday promotion, “The 12 Days of Switchmas.” The cause-marketing campaign invited website visitors to get free items, bid on auction items, and give personally to the Independence Center, which helps adults with serious mental illnesses to live and work independently. The campaign also brought in two new clients and 31 new business leads, and introduced the agency to more than 4,000 people across the U. S. and 75 countries.

UOP, a Honeywell company, has been awarded the American Institute of Chemical Engineers 2010 Energy Award for its work on biofuels process technology. UOP was recognized for developing technology to broaden the range of feedstock options for the creation of high quality biofuels. The award from AIChE is given for contributions toward the innovation, sustainability, and conservation of energy through the application of chemical engineering.
