NEW YORK, Jan. 9, 2013 /3BL Media/ -- Deloitte has once again been named one of Human Rights Campaign's (HRC) "Best Places to Work," earning a perfect 100 percent rating on HRC's 2013 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) for the seventh consecutive year.

The CEI measures and analyzes inclusion initiatives, company benefits, and support made available for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) personnel and the wider LGBT community. Since 2002, the number of employers officially rated in the CEI has more than doubled.

"As our nation places increased emphasis on modernizing equal rights, this award demonstrates Deloitte's longstanding commitment to being a progressive leader in workplace equality," said Deb DeHaas , Chief Inclusion Officer,Deloitte LLP . "Inclusion is core to who we are as an organization and we strive to maintain an environment where all of our people are empowered to live and work openly with the flexibility to manage their unique work-life needs. This culture of commitment and mutual accountability benefits our people and our clients."

Deloitte supports the greater LGBT community through a number of both personal and professional ways. This year, personnel from the Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited's US and Canada member firms shared their personal journeys in an uplifting video for the It Gets Better Project.

Additionally, through a variety of Business Resource Groups (BRGs) including the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, or Transgender, and Allies BRG (GLOBE & Allies BRG), Deloitte offers its people opportunities to connect with each other, build strong networks at all levels across the organization to help navigate their careers, contribute to local communities, and provide feedback to leadership on related policies and practices.

As a result of Deloitte's efforts, Deloitte has earned numerous other recognitions for its leadership in promoting inclusion.  Most recently, the organization was ranked in the top 10 on DiversityInc's "Top 50 Companies for Diversity" list.
