(3BL Media) Englewood. CO - July 2, 2012 - Today, The Allstate Foundation announced a donation of $20,000 to local first responder organizations for the recent Colorado wildfire outbreak. The Rist Canyon Volunteer Fire Department and the Waldo Canyon Fire Fighters Fund will each receive a $10,000 grant to aid in the recovery process.  Each of these emergency response organizations serve communities hit hard by the destructive High Park and Waldo Canyon fires.

“Allstate and The Allstate Foundation want to thank the men and women who were first responders in these two historic fires in our state,” stated Jeff Thompson, field senior vice president of Allstate’s West Central Region. “They put their lives on the line to protect our communities.  It’s important that companies, like Allstate, recognize the resources and efforts of these individuals, and supports them in their recovery efforts.”

In addition to support from The Allstate Foundation, Allstate employees and agency owners in Colorado are engaging in fundraising efforts to support The Red Cross.

Allstate Insurance Company has also set up two Mobile Claims Centers (MCCs) to help residents in Colorado Springs.

These mobile claims centers are specially equipped motor coaches designed to go into impacted areas quickly after storms happen. They will be set up as temporary claim locations to assist those insured with one of the Allstate companies to start the claims process. The units are equipped with satellite phones, wireless data access, generators and even bottled water and teddy bears for kids and will deploy in areas impacted by the wildfires.
