Campaign: Capacity Building

November 9, 2017 /3BL Media/ - The German Ministry for Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) has awarded the World Environment Center Europe (WEC Europe) and the Institute for Sustainability a grant to disseminate best practices in corporate sustainability management in Chile and Mexico.  Leading German company executives and international thought leaders will participate in peer-to-peer roundtables to discuss the sustainability’s value proposition, value chain innovation and integration of strategy and practices across the enterprise.

The project’s goal is to collaborate with companies in Chile and Mexico, whose operations extend across Latin America, to provide practical business solutions to a number of sustainability challenges. With the Latin American market expected to grow while facing increasing risks from climate change, waste and water management, and social responsibility challenges, the importance of more sustainable business management becomes more imperative.

“These activities will provide another interactive channel for our members and stakeholders to learn from each other, develop opportunities for collaboration, and continue discerning some of the best solutions available in corporate sustainability practices,” said Frank Werner, Director of WEC Europe and Project Director.

WEC has partnered with two leading organizations, APLE in Chile and CESPEDES in Mexico, to provide their on-the-ground knowledge and support to achieve project objectives.  Four business roundtables in Chile and Mexico in March 2018 will serve as key discussion platforms to add to existing knowledge of sustainable business management. Interested parties should contact Mr. Frank Werner at fwerner@wec.org.
