Graton Resort & Casino Provides Playground Equipment and Senior Citizen Transportation for Rohnert Park

ROHNERT PARK, CALIF., May 2, 2015 /3BL Media/ – Graton Resort & Casino has teamed up with the National Recreation and Park Association and CBS EcoMedia’s WellnessAd program to provide much-needed services for the Rohnert Park community, including new playground equipment and a new eight-passenger van for senior citizens.

Graton Resort & Casino’s funding has provided new equipment in Rohnert Park’s Eagle Park playground, which was in need of replacement due to age and deterioration. Thanks to Graton Resort & Casino, young children and families at Eagle Park will now have access to new play equipment, including a slide, crawl tunnel and swings.

Graton Resort & Casino is also providing care for local seniors, funding a new eight-passenger van which will transport approximately 160 seniors at the Rohnert Park Senior Center to medical appointments and recreational opportunities throughout the city.

To celebrate Graton’s support for the city, Rohnert Park’s Community Services Department hosted a special “Community Day” celebration, which included a included a ribbon-cutting ceremony and unveiling as well as free games, arts and crafts, and food for community members. Rohnert Park Councilmembers, Tribal Chairman Greg Sarris of the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria, the leadership team from Graton Resort & Casino and representatives of CBS EcoMedia attended the event.

 “The old tot lot at Eagle Park and the Senior Center Transportation Program are two widely used resources in our city. It is important to us to promote health and wellness within our community and these two resources help us do that,” said Rohnert Park Councilmember Pam Stafford. “The City of Rohnert Park is grateful for the funding from Graton Resort & Casino that provided a new tot lot at Eagle Park and a new eight-passenger van for the Senior Transportation Program.”
