Grupo Financiero Banorte's Social Performance Unveiled in 2013 Annual Report

June 27, 2014 /3BL Media/ - Grupo Financiero Banorte presented its 2013 Annual Report with the results of its economic, social and environmental performance under the G4 methodology of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and its Financial Supplement.

Regarding its social performance, the following stands out:

  • More than 1,300 jobs were generated.
  • The percentage of employees whose performance and career evolution were regularly evaluated was 82% of men, and 81% of women.
  • For a fourth consecutive year, employees' efforts were encouraged and acknowledged through Premio Ingenio Banorte (Banorte's Innovation Award), an initiative through which solutions to enhance process efficiency and optimize the customer experience of institution's clients are offered. In 2013, 1,312 ideas were registered in 6 categories.
  • Through Fundación Banorte (Banorte Foundation) $41,236,856.00 pesos were donated to 35 organizations. Support through 115 hours of pro bono consulting by 23 employees of the institution was also provided.
  • Through Fideicomiso Súmate (Súmate Trust), made up by fortnightly voluntary donations from Group's employees, 13 institutions at national level were benefited, for an amount of $4,192,938.42 pesos.
  • In the context of the catastrophe caused by hurricanes Ingrid and Manuel, collection centers were established encouraging the nation-wide employee participation, delivering 11,000 provisions packages equivalent to over $ 3 million pesos.
  • Jugando, Jugando y con Banorte Ixe Ayudando (Playing, Playing and - with Banorte Ixe – Assisting) is an initiative that consists of collecting and delivering toys to children hospitalized in public hospitals and orphanages, as well as the children of Security and Housekeeping staff. Through this initiative 44,461 toys and blankets were collected and 43% more volunteers signed-up at national level than the ones enrolled in 2012, reaching over 1,000 participants.
