Feb 8, 2017 2:30 PM ET

We kicked off the New Year with our Annual Ideagen Global Leadership 2030 Summit where we welcomed Leif, the new CEO of Ideagen.

Kevin Donnellan, Chief of Staff of AARP, moderated the first Power Panel opening up the discussion about The Global Disruption of Aging. Mr. Donnellan says, "Our cultures, institutions, social supports and infrastructures have not kept up with the advancements in the way we age that science, technology and innovation had made continue to make possible; that's what the conversation needs to be about. We need to get rid of the outdated beliefs and the stereotypes about aging and spark new solutions, so that more of us can choose how we want to live and age. That means replacing old models that do not work with new ones that do and updating those, so that those of us who want to work can continue to work in the future". Jane Oates with Apollo, Nicole Gardner with IBM, James Keach with PCH Films, Eric Carlson with CK&D, and Stacy Haller with Bright Focus also conversed and emerged deeper within the topic.

Following the first panel, the Ideagen Global Leadership 2030 Award was presented to Ambassador of the European Union to the United States of America, David O'Sullivan.

A special thanks to our sponsors: AARP, Amway, Capgemini, Global Good & Research by Intellectual Ventures, Microsoft, and Vodafone.

A quick but powerful video made by Mr. James Keach was shown. The succinct clip explains PCH Films and CK&D "...plan to explore the world of positivity, showcasing authentic narrative stories, documentaries, and programs that will shine a light on the good of human kind". The partnership between PCH Films, CK&D and Ideagen hopes to create films that inspire and uplift the human spirit.

Power Panel II was centered on answering the question: How do we develop new impact models during challenging times? Kyle Zimmer, President, CEO, and Co-Founder of First Book moderated the panel with panelists Kenneth Frankel with the Canadian Council for the Americas, Sabine Hertveldt with the International Finance Corporation, Elsa Palanza with Clinton Global Initiative and Greg Ramm with Save the Children US.

The final panel was focusing on: in times of change there remains a roadmap to address the world's biggest challenges. Dr. Kiko Suarez moderated the panel with panelists Jeff Terry with AMWAY and Dominic Schofield with GAIN. The panel emphasized, "Even in times of change, we remain committed to fight malnutrition with and through partnerships because only through collective action will success be possible".

Concluding the Annual Ideagen Global Leadership 2030 Summit, participants each engaged in the Ideagen Global Good Challenge Ideation which focused on 3 SDG's: 9,12, and 17.

The world’s leading companies, NGO’s and public sectors addressed many of the world’s most vexing issues ranging from global health, education, workforce, and technology, sharing their ideas about developing solutions of Global Good through cross-sector collaborations. The focus at The Washington EU-U.S. Conference was on the Transatlantic Economy and Business. More information as well as the full live-stream can be found here: https://joom.ag/Bs1W
