Piedmont Triad NC Chapter USGBC Hosts Annual Event “Living System Design” By Internationally Known Architect and LEED Pioneer William Reed at Proximity Hotel in Greensboro, NC

(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) Greensboro, NC - September 8, 2011 - The Piedmont Triad NC Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) will host its annual event, “Living System Design” on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 from 5:30PM – 9PM at the Proximity Hotel in Greensboro.  World-renowned architect, lecturer, and founding Board Member of the US Green Building Council, William Reed will be the featured speaker.

The presentation will explore the concept of sustainability as a “life-giving process” that impacts our approach to creating shelter, growing food, and ultimately sustaining planetary health. 

About William Reid

Mr. Reid is an internationally recognized proponent and practitioner in sustainability and principal in three firms, the Integrative Design Collaborative, Regenesis, Inc., and Delving Deeper – green building consulting, living system design, and education organizations.  He has participated in over 300 presentations and workshops relating to Sustainable, Regenerative and Whole System Design and consulted on over two hundred green design commissions and dozens of LEED projects. He is a guest lecturer at Universities from Harvard and MIT to the University of British Columbia. His clients have included the U.S. General Services Administration, the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and many other companies and organizations throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico.

He has not only played an important role on the development of the very first version of LEED, but also was a part of the leadership that built the foundation for the USGBC as an organization,” says Tim Cole, Immediate Past Chair of the Board of Director of the USGBC.

This esteemed speaker and sustainability expert is expected to draw green building and environmental enthusiasts from throughout North Carolina and beyond to this important annual event. 

Event Schedule and Tickets

The event will begin with a social networking period from 5:30 – 6:45PM with food and drinks in the lower lobby of the Proximity Hotel.  The presentation will begin promptly at 6:45 in the Weaver Room, and finally conclude with coffee, dessert, and additional mingling.
