NEW YORK, October 8, 2020 /3BL Media/ – The International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) is pleased to announce new organizations that have joined the IWBI membership program. The continued growth of the program signifies an increasing global emphasis on improving health and well-being through the spaces where we live, work and play. The most recent members to join this network include real estate developers, design and engineering consulting firms and product manufacturers.

“In response to the public health crisis, organizations are increasingly aware of how their workplaces, products, policies and programs are impacting the health and well-being of their employees, clients and communities,” said IWBI Chairman and CEO Rick Fedrizzi. “Through the IWBI membership program, these organizations are taking action to leverage IWBI’s expertise and play a leading role in prioritizing our collective health and safety.”

The continued growth of the IWBI membership program parallels WELL’s rapid global uptake across the globe as the tool of choice for leaders who value the verified performance of design and operations when the health and well-being of people is at stake. There are now over 660-million square feet of projects across 64 countries. Much of WELL’s success is driven by a global network of WELL APs and registrants, a community now totaling over 13,000 people.

There are two tiers of membership and a third designation for companies already enrolled in the WELL Portfolio program. This allows companies to select the best fit for their organizational goals. Member benefits include discounts on the WELL Certification process and WELL AP credentialing program, specialized opportunities to publicize accomplishments, and more touchpoints with IWBI leadership and across the broader community through members-only year-round events and enhanced digital engagement. The program creates pathways for WELL advocates and champions to stay connected, share best practices, explore new shared initiatives and receive greater recognition for these efforts.

About the International WELL Building Institute
The International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) is leading the global movement to transform our buildings, communities, and organizations in ways that help people thrive. WELL is focused exclusively on the ways that buildings and communities, and everything in them, can improve our comfort, drive better choices, and generally enhance, not compromise, our health and wellness. WELL v2 is the most recent version of its popular WELL Building Standard (WELL), and the WELL Community Standard pilot is a district scale rating system that sets a new global benchmark for healthy communities. The WELL Health-Safety Rating is an evidence-based, third-party verified rating for all facility types, focused on operational policies, maintenance protocols, emergency plans, and stakeholder education to address a post-COVID-19 environment now and broader health and safety-related issues into the future. IWBI mobilizes the wellness community through the management of the WELL AP credential, the pursuit of applicable research, the development of educational resources, and advocacy for policies that promote health and wellness everywhere. IWBI is a participant of the United Nations Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate citizenship initiative, and helps companies advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the use of WELL.
