SHANGHAI, October 23, 2019 /3BL Media/-- The International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) today announced a group of Asia-based leaders who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in advancing health and well-being for people through WELL projects. Thirty-nine people, including those selected from the community of WELL Accredited Professionals (WELL AP) and WELL Faculty members, are honored during an IWBI Asia awards celebration taking place during Greenbuild China this week in Shanghai.

The award ceremony in Shanghai precedes IWBI’s 2019 awards celebration set for November 18 in Atlanta, Ga. during the global version of Greenbuild Conference and Expo.

“IWBI recognizes that WELL is a journey made possible by the commitment and dedication of our community,” said Xue Ya, president of IWBI Asia.  “Thanks to the passion and leadership of our community, we are expanding the global WELL footprint in over 58 countries and moving great progress every day.”

In recognition of those who have gone above and beyond, IWBI has awarded exemplary individuals who played influential roles in advancing WELL around the globe.

To date, there are now over 200 WELL Faculty members and nearly 10,000 WELL APs and those on their journey toward achieving their accreditation. Today, WELL crossed the 456 million square feet threshold for registered and certified projects across 58 countries.

The Asia-based recipients of the IWBI 2019 leadership award have all clearly demonstrated their outstanding contribution to propel the WELL movement forward. IWBI recognizes their leadership in placing people’s health and well-being at the center of decision making, fostering WELL strategies for exciting but challenging projects, identifying innovative solutions, and promoting corporate social responsibility by extending WELL benefits to as many people as their projects can reach.

WELL is focused exclusively on the ways that buildings and communities, and everything in them, can improve our comfort, drive better choices, and generally enhance, not compromise, our health and wellness. IWBI convenes and mobilizes the wellness community through management of the WELL AP credential, the pursuit of applicable research, the development of educational resources, and advocacy for policies that promote health and wellness everywhere.
