JetBlue Launches Online Charity Auction; FSG Creates New Shared Value Initiative for CGI; Sappi Fine Paper Nominated for Awards - CSR Minute for October 1, 2012
JetBlue’s annual Bid for Good online charitable auction is now underway, Customers can bid on JetBlue Getaways vacation packages, exclusive access to VIP sporting events, signed memorabilia, and other one-of-a-kind experiences. This year’s proceeds will benefit KaBOOM!, a non-profit that sets up playgrounds for children, and PBS KIDS. The auction will continue through October 18th.
FSG has announced a commitment to action as part of the 2012 Clinton Global Initiative. The global consulting firm has established a new Shared Value Initiative in a multi-year effort to leverage the private sector to help solve social problems. A Leadership Council that includes Nestle, Verizon, and the Rockefeller Foundation, with input and support from other companies including Intel, Eli Lilly, Coca-Cola, Medtronic, Novartis, and Western Union, will guide the Initiative.
Sappi Fine Paper North America has been nominated for three awards in the annual Pulp & Paper International Awards competition. The company has been named a finalist in three categories: executive leadership, company environmental strategy, and environmental message. Sappi has also been recognized with winners in ten categories of awards from the Gold Ink Awards print contest.
