Mars Joins WWF, Target, World Resources Institute and Others to Discuss Sustainability at 2015 GreenBiz Forum

PHOENIX, USA, March 2, 2014 /3BL Media/– Last week, Kevin Rabinovitch, Global Director of Sustainability for Mars,Incorporated, took part in a workshop session at the GreenBiz forum, which aimed to highlight the business case for companies to invest in renewable energy.

The session, entitled "The Power of Companies in the Shift to Cost-Effective Renewables", questioned how companies are creating new opportunities using utilities to acquire more cost effective and renewable energy.

During the discussion, Kevin Rabinovitch was able to showcase Mars’ approach to renewable energy in relation to achieving its ‘Sustainable in a Generation’ commitment in achieving carbon neutral operations by 2040, referring to projects such as Mars’ Mesquite Creek Wind Farm.

In addition, Rachel Goldstein, Mars Global Sustainability Manager for Scientific and Regulatory Affairs represented Mars, participating in two workshops including ‘The Sustainability Consortium: Product Sustainability Revealed, Translated and Realized’ and ‘Supply-Chain Risk and Commodity Mapping: Partnerships and Tools’.

Joining Mars for the workshop were representatives from WRI (World Resources Institute), WWF (World Wildlife Fund) and other corporate participants including Target.

The GreenBiz Forum, in its seventh year, is an important event for the sustainability community and defines the trends, challenges and opportunities in sustainable business.
