(3BLMedia/theCSRfeed) New York - February 3, 2011- After recently launching the world’s first fully functional, FINRA-regulated electronic impact investment platform, Mission Markets has executed its first two transactions. This is a significant milestone for Mission Markets in realizing its goal of increasing transparency, efficiency, liquidity and volume of capital flowing into these new markets.

A recently published report on impact investing by J.P. Morgan and the Rockefeller Foundation estimates an investment opportunity of between $400 billion and $1 trillion and classifies impact investing as an emerging asset class.

“This is a pivotal moment in Mission Markets’ history and for the impact investing space,” says Mission Markets Founder and CEO Mike Van Patten, “These first two investments show that impact investors are willing to trust in and use our electronic marketplace to find new opportunities and diversify their portfolios.”

The two companies that have raised capital through the Mission Markets investment platform are Hotfrog LLC, an early stage, triple bottom line new media company with Rockefeller family lead investment and Lumni, Inc., an international pioneer in human capital financing that facilitates investment in higher-education for low-income students. The investments come from a Family Office and a High Net Worth Individual.

“We are honored to be one of the first companies to successfully transact on the Mission Markets investment platform,” says Laurie Lane-Zucker, Hotfrog’s CEO, “This transformational infrastructure is critical to the maturation of the impact investing industry.”

Felipe Vergara, Lumni’s CEO notes, “Lumni is thrilled to start working with Mission Markets. We believe Mission Markets will be a key partner in our vision to invest in human capital and transform the lives of hundreds of thousands of talented young students.”

Mission Markets anticipates a dramatic increase in transaction opportunities benefiting mission-driven companies, organizations, and projects as the impact investing industry grows.
