New BSR Report Tracks 20 Years of Sustainability Challenges; Kmart Holiday Shoppers Donate to St. Jude’s; Eastman Chemical Company Joins World Business Council - CSR Minute for October 23, 2012
Fourteen key sustainability challenges have been tracked for the last 20 years by Business for Social Responsibility in its BSR/Globescan State of Sustainable Business Poll 2012. The survey outlines priorities for the year ahead, the challenges of climate change, and progress on integrating financial and sustainability data in business reporting. The poll surveyed more than 500 business leaders from BSR’s global network of 300 companies.
Kmart is giving holiday shoppers the chance to contribute to the company’s support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through its Thanks and Giving fundraiser. The campaign is an add-on program at checkout to give $1, $5, or $10 in all Kmart stores or online. The initiative raised $6 million last year, and runs through December 29th of this year.
The Eastman Chemical Company has joined the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. The company will be closely involved in the WBCSD’s new Chemical Sector Project, “Reaching Full Potential.”
