CHERRY HILL, N.J., September 27, 2013 /3BL Media/ – Subaru of America, Inc. salutes urban farming and ushers autumn to the Philadelphia area by sponsoring the 6th Annual Subaru Fall Festival at Greensgrow Farms September 28, 2013. Recognized nationally as a leader in urban agriculture, Greensgrow Farms’ Philadelphia location will once again be the place to sample delicious harvest dishes, enjoy crafts of all kinds, visit the farmer’s market, and immerse kids in fun fall children’s activities.

Greensgrow activities include a chili competition and demonstrations of bee keeping, apple cider making, pumpkin carving, and raising backyard chickens. Activities in the Subaru Kids’ Corner include: Make Your Own Tissue Paper Pumpkin, Create Your Own Terrarium, Make Your Own Natural Car Freshener, an apple stamp craft, face painting, and harvest bowling. Kids will also find a well-stocked organic snack station.

Hungry visitors will find fresh pies, kielbasa, and mac and cheese, and Organic Gardening Magazine will offer organic food tasting. Visitors are also invited to “fill the Forester” – a Subaru Forester – as part of a canned/non-perishable food drive to help fill a local food pantry for those in need.

Pet lovers can stop by the “Subaru Love a Pet” tent, where pets will be available for adoption by Subaru partner ASPCA and Philadelphia Paws.

The first 200 Subaru customers will be offered a discount to join Greensgrow’s CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program, which offers the participants a weekly food share of local farmers’ harvest. VIP parking for Subaru vehicles is available on a first come-first served basis, and there will be three vehicles on display – the 2014 Subaru Forester, the 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek, and a wrapped Love A Pet Subaru Outback.

On social media, follow the conversations about ASPCA and pet adoption with hashtag #loveapet, and stay tuned to all other happenings at the event by using #subarugardens.
