The Michigan Diversity Council Recognizes Top Organization and Leader Awardees at the Second Annual National Black Men in Leadership Summit

DETROIT, August 2, 2022 /3BL Media/ - The Michigan Diversity Council (MIDC) will host the second annual National Black Men in Leadership Summit taking place on Thursday, August 18 from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Fort Pontchartrain Hotel. The event, in partnership with the National Diversity Council (NDC) will focus on the theme, “Resilient Leadership: Connection, Community and Contribution.”

The 2022 National Black Men in Leadership Summit Awards highlight individuals who have achieved success in their careers, while paving the way for Black men to advance in the corporate and education arena. These individuals contribute to creating and promoting a culture where Black talent is supported and leveraged for organizational success. They demonstrate leadership excellence and high visibility in the Black community and maintain a record of professional accomplishments.

“Today, more than any other time, it is imperative we recognize and honor our leaders,” said Angeles Valenciano, CEO of the National Diversity Council. “The honorees are exemplary individuals paving the way for the Black community at-large.”

Dennis Kennedy, the founder and board chairman of the National Diversity Council said, “It is time to commit to increasing advancement opportunities for Black men in workplaces and celebrate the accomplishments of our community.”

In addition to the individual and company awards, four $1,000- $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to Black male college bound students. The selected scholarship recipients will be individuals who demonstrate strong leadership traits, community involvement and academic achievement. The scholarship is funded through The Michigan Diversity Council in partnership with the Auto Club Group, AAA, Comerica Bank, Detroit Pistons and Aerotek-Aston Carter-Actalent.
