Toyota Enhances Green Space as Part of Princeton’s Bicentennial
Princeton, Ind., September 23, 2014 /3BL Media/ – Enhancements to the Bicentennial Park, landscaping a pocket park in Downtown Princeton and upgrades at Lafayette Park will all be made possible by Toyota Indiana’s $27,000 donation to the City of Princeton. The donation will commemorate Princeton’s Bicentennial celebration.
“We are thrilled Toyota Indiana is able to help add elements to the Friendship City Tribute section of Bicentennial Park”, said Mayor Bob Hurst. “Now our park will have an additional limestone walk path with more landscaping features such as boulders and additional flowers.” The city matched Toyota Indiana’s donation to enhance the park and improve the landscape.
In addition, close to 100 Toyota team members and their families volunteered on Saturday in Princeton as part National Public Lands Day. Projects include landscaping a pocket park in Downtown Princeton and providing and laying ADA-approved mulch at a playground in Lafayette Park.
“National Public Lands Days is the largest single-day volunteer effort to cleanup public lands,” said Kelly Dillon, manager External Affairs at Toyota Indiana. “We are especially proud to be able to volunteer Saturday as Princeton celebrates its 200th birthday and as people come from all over the Tri-State to enjoy the annual Golden Heritage Days Festival.”
This year will mark the 21st anniversary of NPLD and the 14th consecutive year Toyota Indiana has participated in the effort.
