Trane Technologies Joins OneTen Coalition as Founding Member

SWORDS, Ireland, Dec. 10, 2020 /3BL Media / –  Today, Trane Technologies (NYSE:TT), a global climate innovator, announced it will help launch the OneTen Coalition as a founding member to help train, hire and promote one million Black people in the U.S. over the next ten years. OneTen brings together more than 30 major employers to take action and invest in continued growth and progression of Black people in America. The coalition will connect members with talent partners, leading non-profits and other skill-credentialing organizations who support development of diverse talent in the workforce, especially those without four-year degrees.

“Our focus is removing systemic barriers and providing equitable opportunity for Black people to achieve success in the workforce,” said Mike Lamach, chairman and CEO of Trane Technologies and chairman of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM). “I’m pleased to help initiate this coalition, which provides greater access to education and training, jobs with competitive wages, and career growth for Black members of our communities. It requires bold action to break down barriers to equality; as OneTen members, we are united in our pledge to take action for measurable impact and positive change.”

Trane Technologies will make a significant financial contribution to seed the coalition, and will work with OneTen to accelerate the company’s progress in attracting, hiring and developing Black talent.

The OneTen Coalition is an extension of Trane Technologies’ commitment to increase diversity and opportunity, included in the company’s 2030 Sustainability Commitments. Other efforts underway include partnerships with organizations like the National Society of Black Engineers and employee programs like the Black Employee Network and CEO Day of Understanding to help eliminate discrimination and create diverse and inclusive environments. The company was also one of the first to sign the CEO Action for diversity and inclusion, and Paradigm for Parity

OneTen members expect a significant percentage of the one million jobs they create will be in the manufacturing industry. Earlier this year, Mike Lamach and the National Association of Manufacturers executive committee also introduced the Pledge for Action, an 11-point commitment plan for manufacturers to advance justice, equality and opportunity for the Black community and all people of color.
