Making the Link ::: Sustainable Supply Chains

Researchers estimate that 40-60 percent of a business’s environmental footprint stems from its supply chain.  Consequently, businesses that are serious about operating in an environmental and socially sustainable manner are increasingly integrating suppliers into their sustainability strategies.

This interactive dialogue will feature Kathryn Cooper, President, Sustainability Learning Centre, and Brad Zarnett, President of Eco-Opportunity Consulting Inc. and Founder and Director of the Toronto Sustainability Speaker Series. as they provide insight into engaging supply chains effectively while working collaboratively to produce sustainable outcomes.

During this dialogue participants will:

  • Learn about a six step process for implementing a Sustainable Supply Chain as defined by the United Nations Global Compact and Business for Social Responsibility;

  • Discuss the importance of aligning a sustainability strategy with a Sustainable Supply Chain initiative;

  • Discover steps to map a supply chain and options for prioritizing the Sustainable Supply Chain initiative.

Pariticipants will receive a downloadable copy of Supply Chain Sustainability: A practical guide for continuous improvement by United Nations Global Compact and Business for Social Responsibility.
