(3BLMedia/theCSRfeed) COSTA MESA, CA – September 21, 2010 – As the September 30th deadline looms, Volcom, Inc. (NASDAQ: VLCM), the youth clothing innovator, expects to hit their goal of 10,000 pairs of jeans collected for the homeless during their Give Jeans a Chance crusade.

In 2009 more than 5,000 pairs of jeans were collected by 100 North American stores featuring Volcom product and then donated to fifty local homeless shelters across the country. This year Volcom is hoping to collect upwards of 10,000 pairs with the help of more than 300 participating stores around the world and it looks like they will succeed.   After six weeks of rallying, Volcom estimates that upwards of 9,000 pairs of jeans have been collected – almost 1,000 of those from one store, The Trend Cellar in McHenry, IL.   Now, with less than two weeks until the deadline, they need your help! Volcom is making one last blitz with the expectation that they’ll reach the 10,000 mark.   “The response from retailers and customers has been amazing,” said Floris Gierman, Volcom’s Director of Retail Marketing. “We integrated the Give Jeans a Chance campaign into our Volcom Brand Jeans Skateboard Tour in August. More than 850 kids brought their jeans and we dropped them off at several homeless shelters along the tour route. It was rad to see everyone helping out and giving back.”   The Give Jeans a Chance program is in progress in many international locations, and drop off bins can now be found in Asia, Europe, Australia, and South America as well.   So before September 30th, the company urges you to get to your local Volcom retailer and ask your mom, your dad, your family and all your friends to donate their jeans (of all cuts and sizes) so that one more person without a permanent home can receive a nice, warm pair of jeans without any holes.   For more info about Give Jeans a Chance and for updates on the drive, check www.volcom.com/givejeansachance or contact: Floris Gierman at 949-646-2175 or fgierman@volcom.com   Give Jeans A Chance 2010 – A partnership with the National Coalition for the Homeless (Click HERE to watch video)   About Volcom, Inc.   Volcom is an innovative designer, marketer and distributor of premium quality young men’s and women’s clothing, accessories and related products. The Volcom brand, symbolized by The Stone, is athlete-driven, creative and forward thinking.   Volcom has consistently followed its motto of “youth against establishment,” and the brand is inspired by the energy of youth culture. Volcom branded products are sold throughout the United States and internationally. Volcom’s news announcements and SEC filings are available through the company’s website at www.volcom.com.   About the Volcom Give Back Series   Created in 2008, the Volcom Give Back Series (VGBS), is a program where a percentage of proceeds from select styles go directly to community-based non-profits. The company has supported charities and organizations including the National Coalition for the Homeless, TACA (Talk About Curing Autism), Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii, and Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC).
