KeyBank Fuels Redevelopment Effort to Provide Seniors in New York with Affordable Housing Options

The financing will support the redevelopment of a former public school into 50 units of affordable housing for low-income seniors and homeless frail elderly

CLEVELAND, December 18, 2018 /3BL Media/— KeyBank Community Development Lending & Investment (CDLI) provided a $10.8 million construction loan to support the Jason Gwilt Memorial Senior Apartments, a converted public school in Verona, NY that will make 50 units of affordable seniors housing and a senior center available to the community.

The Albany Boys and Girls Club is receiving some national attention thanks to one if its longtime volunteers. On Tuesday, Maytag awarded one Albany local the 2015 Maytag Dependable Leader award. A.B. King was one of 11 national winners and said he was humbled to receive all the attention. “I never had anything this big before and the feeling is just unbearable and unbelievable," said King. Not only was King recognized by Maytag but he was also recognized by Mayor Hubbard and was awarded the Boys and Girls Club National Service to Youth Award.

Exemplifying National Grid’s commitment to developing students and future leaders, upstate NY Gas Operations supervisors Brett Morey and Jacob Ennis recently mentored Albany High School students competing in the NY Tech Valley FIRST Robotics Competition. The two volunteered their expertise as engineers, but even more importantly, they inspired students to put STEM – education in science, technology, engineering and math – into action.
