It was just chance that Tahmim Siddiquee was assigned to research recycling initiatives as part of his GM Student Corps internship this past summer. A resident of Hamtramck, Michigan all his life, Tahmim didn’t even know his hometown had a residential recycling program. That’s because, he says, “recycling in Hamtramck is, for a lack of a better word, neglected.”

Tailgating Football Fans to Participate in GameDay Recycling Challenge Across the Country
WASHINGTON, Oct. 5, 2015 /3BL Media/ – From now until the end of November, college football is scoring big by tackling stadium and tailgating waste through the national GameDay Recycling Challenge, where teams and their fans compete to see who can reduce and recycle the most GameDay items, such as glass bottles and food packaging waste.
Recycle-Bowl is Keep America Beautiful’s fun and friendly national recycling competition, focusing on promoting recycling in K-12 schools. Registration for this year’s Recycle-Bowl competition closes on Oct. 13. The competition takes place from Oct. 19 to Nov. 15. Last year, around 1,500 schools participated, engaging over 800,000 students, teachers and administrators in recycling.
