Watching the Action Team at Queens Vocational High School help conduct an indoor baseball clinic last weekend evoked fond memories for two of the youth volunteer organization’s alumni who attended the event to help shoot a public service announcement.

“Now I’m seeing the direct path from the Action Team to what I am doing today. Everything just comes full circle,” said Neil Kirschling, a former West Deptford Action Team Captain and recent University of Delaware graduate.

Derek Jeter Surprises Children at Annual Turn 2 Holiday Express

Although his playing career may have ended, Derek Jeter has been spending a lot of his time in the New York area, most recently catching up with kids in need from the local community. On Monday, December 8, Derek surprised 485 children at his Turn 2 Foundation’s annual Holiday Express at AMC Lincoln Center Theatre. Holiday Express is an annual event that alternates locations between New York and Kalamazoo, Michigan.

For the first time in its 11-year history, the Major League Baseball Players Trust’s annual off-season, fund-raising golf tournament will be held in Las Vegas, when current and former big league all-stars tee off at Legendary Shadow Creek on Thursday, January 15, 2015. 
 
However, before taking their swings on the golf course, the players will test their card-playing skills when MGM Grand hosts a poker tournament benefiting the Players Trust on Wednesday, January 14.
