Eastman Among Recipients of Awards from Clean Fuels Coalition


Eastman Chemical Co., the city of Kingsport and the Black Bear Solar Institute are all recipients of the 2013 Davy Crockett Volunteer Spirit Award, an accolade presented to alternative fuel leaders in the region by the East Tennessee Clean Fuels Coalition.

All three benefited their communities by reducing petroleum consumption, improving air quality, and educating the public on the benefits of cleaner fuels, the coalition said in a written announcement of the awards.

The fueling station currently serves light vehicles and the target is that heavy equipment will also utilize the biodiesel fuel.

Biodiesel production at PT Freeport Indonesia has reached 500 to 900 liters per month and production is increasing. Low emissions from biodiesel fuels will help to support a healthy working environment.
