AEG’s LA Kings to host blood drives before all January home games at STAPLES Center

In celebration of National Blood Donor Month, AEG’s LA Kings will team up with its longstanding partner, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) to conduct blood drives outside of STAPLES Center prior to all of the team’s home games in January. Dates of blood drives to include Jan. 6, Jan. 13, Jan. 18 and Jan. 21.
Blood drives will begin two hours prior the game’s scheduled start time (5:30 p.m. on Jan. 6, Jan. 13 and Jan. 21; 5 p.m. on Jan. 18). All interested donors are encouraged to stop by CHLA’s Blood Mobile stationed on Chick Hearn Court to learn more and donate.
Bermuda Hospitals Board [BHB] and the Ministry of Health and Seniors today announced that Bacardi is the winner of the Corporate Blood Drive 2016/17.
This is the fourth Corporate Blood Drive that has taken place, with this year’s event seeing “the highest ever number of competitors.”
A spokesperson said, “Bacardi has been awarded the revolving trophy and a certificate to thank them for their commitment to saving lives and caring for those with therapeutic transfusion needs, such as sickle cell and cancer patients."
BJ’s and Boston Children’s Hospital reach half-way point to Blood Donor Challenge
WESTBOROUGH, Ma. September 21, 2016 - BJ’s Wholesale Club is at the half-way point to helping Boston Children’s Hospital’s (BCH) increase its registered donor base by 5,000 through the end of this year. Since March, more than 2,500 Massachusetts residents have registered as a blood donor through Boston Children’s Hospital – Bloodmobile drives, including stops at BJ’s Wholesale Club locations.
Blood is an essential component for life, but many people do not think about it until the need is critical. Each year 234 million major operations are performed worldwide, many involving blood transfusions or treatments resulting in a continuous need for donations.
