SEATTLE, Dec. 12, 2012 /3BL Media/ -- Boeing (NYSE: BA) and the BMW Group signed a collaboration agreement to participate in joint research on carbon fiber recycling and share knowledge about carbon fiber materials and manufacturing.

Boeing and BMW are both pioneering the use of carbon fiber in their products.  Boeing's 787 Dreamliner is made up of 50 percent carbon fiber material and BMW will introduce two vehicles with passenger compartments made of carbon fiber in 2013. Recycling composite material at point of use and the end of product life is critical to both companies.

(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) June 1, 2011 - Boeing (NYSE:BA) has issued its fourth annual Environment Report. While increasing airplane production, Boeing generated year-over-year improvements in environmental performance. Since 2002, on a revenue-adjusted basis, Boeing has reduced carbon dioxide emissions by 28 percent, energy consumption by 30 percent, hazardous-waste generation by 44 percent and water intake by 41 percent. In 2010, 73 percent of solid waste generated was diverted from landfills, up from 68 percent the previous year.
