The hospitality industry has long been under the CSR microscope due to the sheer volume of operations, energy use and waste creation. Although towel and linen reuse programs may be the hallmark consumer-facing program of the industry, new efforts have emerged that make a huge impact not only on sustainability issues within the industry but also leave a social impact mark on the world.
With a shared mission to create a more sustainable and healthier world, nonprofit Clean the World and the Caesars Foundation have been working together since 2010. Through the collection and distribution of soap collected across the 50 Caesars Entertainment properties in the U.S., Clean the World has contributed to a 30 percent reduction in childhood deaths due to diarrheal disease and pneumonia.

Grants were approved in Caesars Foundation’s strategic areas of focus including its emphasis on older individuals, along with education, health, gaming and sustainability.
More than 9 million Americans over the age of 60 face the threat of hunger.
Since its inception, the Caesars Foundation has emphasized support for organizations dedicated to helping older individuals live independently, maintain optimal health and proper nutrition, avoid social isolation, and enjoy mental and physical vitality through every stage of the aging process.
Since 2002, the Caesars Foundation has provided sustained, long-term support totaling $15 million to organizations dedicated to bettering the lives of older individuals, including $3.3 million to the AARP Foundation, an organization that works to influence positive change and improve the lives of those aged 50 and older.
