AIDAsol is the world’s first cruise ship powered during the time spent in port with environmentally friendly and low-emission electricity from liquefied natural gas, which is produced on the LNG Hybrid Barge. Currently the final tests are being conducted in the port of Hamburg.

Carnival Corporation is working through Mercy Corps, the Disaster Emergency Committee and Save the Children to support on the ground teams distributing emergency supplies and aiding rebuilding efforts targeting the most affected families in Kathmandu and surrounding areas.
May 5, 2015 /3BL Media/ - After its scheduled visit to the shipyard from April 21 to May 4, 2015 at the Blohm & Voss shipyard in Hamburg, AIDAdiva now offers even more attractive amenities on board.
Alongside routine classification and maintenance work, the AIDAdiva is now already the fourth ship in the AIDA fleet to be fitted with the first phase of a multi-phase filter system for the treatment of emissions. The so-called scrubber reduces sulfur dioxide emissions by around 90 percent.

The 10-night cruise to New Caledonia and Vanuatu will double as a humanitarian aid mission with the equivalent of four full shipping containers worth of vital supplies being loaded onto the ship in Auckland and delivered during a call to Port Vila on Anzac Day - Saturday April 25.
April 27, 2015 /3BL Media/ - Carnival Ecstasy scored 100 during its recent United States Public Health (U.S.P.H.) inspection which took place at PortMiami. Carnival Ecstasy is the fourth Carnival ship to earn a perfect U.S.P.H. score this year.
In March 2015, Cyclone Pam devastated Vanuatu with winds up to 270kmh. About 165,000 people were affected and up to 90 percent of homes were damaged. Carnival Australia quickly responded to the call for aid and sent ships to help the community of Vanuatu who suffered from the powerful storm.
Four of five ships - Pacific Dawn, Pacific Pearl, Carnival Legend and Carnival Spirit - headed for Vanuatu with humanitarian aid onboard. On April 8 - a month after Cyclone Pam - Pacific Dawn arrived in Port Villa to provide further assistance.
