Have you heard the one about the chemical industry and a three-legged stool?
We’ve all heard the analogy of the three-legged stool, right? Despite being incredibly stable when all three legs are firmly on the ground, if you lose one leg, the stool topples over. This principle holds true with EHS&S programs as well.
Antea Group has assembled a team of seasoned professionals to create a similarly stable EHS&S support structure for the chemical industry. The “legs” that support a successful EHS&S program are Environmental Compliance, Health & Safety and Sustainability.
The client, a chemical manufacturing company, was separating into two separate companies. As part of the separation process, it was determined that approximately 300 EH&S related permits, licenses and registrations in multiple states required transfer to the new entity in order to allow continued operation.
When it comes to designing, implementing and managing EHS and sustainability programs, each industry faces unique requirements, challenges and opportunities. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach, and many companies find they lack the resources or expertise to create programs that meet compliance and add business value.
If this is what you’re experiencing as you work to implement or refine your company’s programs, enlisting the help of an EHS and sustainability consultant may provide the direction and helping hands you’re looking for.

Recently proposed EPA regulation provides a streamlined approach for healthcare facilities to better manage their hazardous pharmaceutical waste. To prepare for these changes, healthcare facilities, including manufacturers, distributers, pharmacies and retailers of pharmaceutical products in the USA will need to make operational adjustments around notification, training, record keeping and reporting.
March 14, 2016 /3BL Media/ - Since the early 1980’s hazardous waste management in this country has largely consisted of a “one size fits all” set of stringent regulations promulgated under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). The regulations presume that manufacturers and commercial operations generate relatively predictable amounts of hazardous waste from specific locations and processes. Hazardous waste is managed, from generation to final disposition, by trained technical experts.
