According to MorningStar Mission volunteer coordinator Lisa Wainwright, customarily, the Volunteer Group of the Year Award is granted to individuals who display an exemplary volunteer spirit, but this year MorningStar Mission staff unanimously decided to honor the CITGO Lemont TeamCITGO organization as a whole.

In order to be considered, applicants must show interest in pursuing a degree in a STEM-related discipline (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics), be in good academic standing, and demonstrate leadership abilities.
