HOUSTON, July 6, 2017 /3BL Media/― CITGO recently partnered with the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) Scholars Academy in support of its 17th annual UHD Student Research Conference (SRC). The partnership builds upon the company’s CITGO STEM Talent Pipeline initiative, which supports educational organizations near its operational areas to increase access to learning opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields.   
 

LEMONT, Ill., June 8, 2017 /3BL Media/ — CITGO volunteers and community leaders came together in Lemont to continue the project of removing invasive species and the replanting of native seeds in the Heritage Quarries Recreation Area (HQRA).

Volunteers worked on three highly visible locations---approximately 3.5 acres of natural area. Under the direction of The Conservation Foundation, workers trimmed trees and removed invasive brush, and planted native seeds, trees and plugs. 

LEMONT, Ill., May 18, 2017 /3BL Media/ — On April 5, The Three River’s Manufacturers’ Association (TRMA) held its annual dinner meeting to recognize member companies for their commitment to safety. This year, the CITGO Lemont Refinery was awarded the “Partnership Award” in recognition of their 2016 total OSHA workplace recordable incident rate of less than 0.4 with no work-related fatalities. 

HOMER, Mich., May 12, 2017 /3BL Media/ - Folk Oil Company, a local CITGO Petroleum Corporation Marketer, and its PS Food Mart Stores, surpassed last year’s fundraising efforts yet again during its eighth annual “Fight Hunger Give Hope” campaign. Running from March 13 to March 26 and reaching an impressive total of $88,690, this annual fundraiser works to provide more than half a million meals through local food banks, pantries and backpack programs located in the same areas as PS Food Mart locations.
