LEMONT, Ill., April 10, 2017 /3BL Media/ – During February and March, as a part of the CITGO STEM Talent Pipeline Program, which seeks to increase access to educational opportunities in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), the CITGO Lemont Refinery participated in four STEM-related events for area youth.

HOUSTON – April 4, 2017 – CITGO Petroleum Corporation and the Boston Red Sox are taking science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education to the baseball diamond this year. CITGO and the Red Sox have announced that they will host two STEM Days this year for Boston-area students to help their classroom STEM lessons come alive. CITGO will be inviting 500 elementary and middle school students to the STEM Days as part of the CITGO STEM Talent Pipeline Program, joining a total of approximately 5,000 students who will take part in these days of fun, interactive STEM learning.

LEMONT, Ill., March 28, 2017 /3BL Media/ – On Sunday, March 5, the CITGO Lemont Refinery joined over 5,000 participants at the 17th Annual Chicago Polar Plunge at North Avenue Beach. TeamCITGO volunteers dove into frigid Lake Michigan water – raising over $10,000 in support of Special Olympics Chicago athletes.
 
“CITGO is already a strong supporter of the Special Olympics organization, and so when we were asked to participate in the Plunge this year, we were honored,” said Jim Cristman, vice president and general manager of the CITGO Lemont Refinery.
