In Honour of Earth Day: Branding for Good Launched its Very First GOODIE Awards for Sustainable Businesses

Branding for Good is proud to host the very first GOODIE Awards in honour of Earth Day 2012.  

Since 1970, Earth Day has been held on April 22nd and this year it is estimated that more than one billion people in over 192 countries will participate in on its 42nd anniversary and pledge to stand united for a sustainable future.

Ernst & Young Connect Day at Teacher's Island

Summary: 

On Friday September 16th, over 110 volunteers from Ernst & Young and the Environmental Coalition of Miami and the Beaches worked together to clean up Teacher’s Island. Part of an effort coinciding with International Coastal Cleanup Day sponsored by Ocean Conservancy, volunteers collected more than 150 bags of garbage, totaling around 1,500 lbs. This activity was part of Ernst & Young's Connect Day which represents a way for each of our offices to come together for a day of service to our communities and in celebration with one another and supports our commitment to environmental sustainability and reducing our impact on the environment.

Leaving Footprints: Teaching Guatemalan Children About HIV and AIDS

Media Impact Communications Officer, Lindsey Wahlstrom, describes her experience at a community fair in San Juan Ostuncalco, Guatemala.  This fair was one of twelve fairs hosted by Asociacion Comunicares, with the support of Media Impact and the Guatemalan Ministry of Health.  At the community events, volunteers use games and interactive presentations to educate youth about the different aspects of HIV and AIDS - prevention, transmission, treatment and stigmas.  Before leaving, youth are invited to write a message or a draw a picture in the book "Dejando Huellas" or "Leaving Footprints."
