240 Miles for Charity

Whirlpool Cyclists Travel to Ohio for United Way

BENTON HARBOR — Over the next two days, 15 bikers will ride 240 miles from Benton Harbor to Clyde, Ohio.

The intention is to raise money for the two United Way organizations prevalent in each city. While some of the bikers work in Ohio and others work in Benton Harbor, they all come from the same home appliance maker.

DeKalb, Ill., August 8, 2014 /3BL Media/ – Team CITGO, the employee volunteer team at the CITGO Lemont Refinery, cycled between 35 and 200 miles to raise more than $28,000 in the 33rd Annual Bike MS: Tour De Farms Event hosted by the Greater Chicago-land Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society on June 21-22, 2014. Fifty-eight Team CITGO cyclists and volunteers participated in the ride and beat last year’s fundraising record by more than $10,000.
