From dreams to reality, Idalia shares her Gildan story that started over 20 years ago when she was only in college.
Q: Tell us about your career journey:
I’ve been with Gildan from the start of my career, it’s the only company I’ve worked for and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
When I was in college, I used to drive by the Gildan facility and think to myself, 'one day, I’m going to work there!' Little did I know that shortly after that, I’d get an interview and start my journey at Gildan. That was 20 years ago!

Q: Tell us about your career journey:
After finishing my Textiles Technical degree in Switzerland, I came back home to Honduras and worked in a textile mill. In 2002, I was excited to interview for a job with Gildan, a Canadian company that had operations in Honduras.
Marie-Chantal shares her story from losing her job during her maternity leave to finding her fit at Gildan. Here is her story:
Q: Tell us about a challenge you overcame during your career?
Shortly after I began my maternity leave with my second child, the company I was working for at the time restructured and I lost my job. It was hard for me to process the information when I got the phone call as I was in full-time mommy mode - taking care of a new born and completely absorbed by his wellbeing.
Gildan caught up with Lourdes Caballero, Senior Manager of Product Performance to hear about her career journey. From witnessing the company’s sudden growth to adapting to a larger team, Lourdes shares some of her cherished moments at Gildan.
Q: Tell us about your job:
I’m currently responsible for managing the development of new products.
I started 9 years ago as a product coordinator, already having 11 years of experience in the apparel industry; I was able to transfer a lot of that knowledge to my new position.
