This April 22nd marks the 46th anniversary of Earth Day. While this is a key day to celebrate environmental achievements, it’s also important to recognize our role as environmental stewards each and every day. This is something that Albertsons Companies and our family of stores (including ACME, Albertsons, Safeway, Shaw’s, Star, United, and others) takes seriously all year round through the conscientious reduction, reuse, and recycling of all our materials. Plastic is a great example.

More than 100 employees to clean up across Massachusetts
WALTHAM, MA, April 24, 2015 /3BL Media/ – Throughout the months of April and May, more than 100 National Grid employees will join local communities to beautify parks and clean-up areas in need of care across Massachusetts as part of Earth Day 2015.
MGM Resorts employees have logged 1.3 Million actions to make our world a better place to live. Combined, these actions have saved enough water to fill 93 olympic-size swimming pools, 843 dumpsters worth of trash, 79 railroad cars of coal worth of emissions, and 4,079 trees.
These days, as we experience extreme weather patterns and witness dramatic changes unfolding around the world, most of us think about our planet every day, not just on Earth Day. We think about how to sustain the earth, how to respect and restore it, how each of us can make changes that will make a difference -- while we're here and long after.
