Earth Day Network (EDN) is the largest recruiter to the environmental movement in the world. Over one billion people across 192 countries will participate in Earth Day 2015, making it the largest civic observance in the world.
With over 50,000 partners, EDN supports and promotes environmental laws and civic participation to build environmental democracy since the first Earth Day in 1970. This year marks Earth Day’s 45th anniversary.
I’m grateful to those companies that use Earth Day as a rallying cry to bring awareness of the environmental risks associated with electronics to their employees and communities. While I emphatically believe that every day should be Earth Day, I’m fully aware that it isn’t for most people, and that the education gap remains huge.
Last year, Sanofi Information Solutions (IS) worked in partnership with Hewlett-Packard (HP) on the deployment of a new print service across our locations in North America (NA). By supporting Sanofi’s environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility goals, this project is bringing the idea of a paperless office closer to reality with printers that are more environmentally friendly, convenient, and secure.

Forty-five years ago today, 20 million Americans gathered in parks, auditoriums and college campuses across the country to demonstrate support for environmental protection and reform.
Many consider that spring day in 1970 as the birth of the environmental movement, the first in a series of events that eventually led to the creation of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and passage of the Clean Air, Clean Water and Endangered Species Acts.
Today Earth Day is celebrated in more than 192 countries.
