In 1907, two teenagers with one bicycle between them started a business running errands, shuttling notes and telegrams and making home deliveries by foot and by bike. Eventually, their fledgling messenger service became what is now UPS.

UPS Reduces Emissions and Congestion in Denmark and Sweden With New Zero Emission eBikes

January 17, 2020 /3BL Media/ - UPS announced today that it has deployed five eBikes in Copenhagen, one in Stockholm and one in Aarhus as part of its global effort to improve the sustainability of its deliveries. As a result of these new alternative fuel vehicles being introduced, UPS operates three fewer 7.5-tonne diesel delivery vehicles in Denmark and one less diesel delivery vehicle in Sweden every day.

SEATTLE, October 25, 2018 /3BL Media/ In an effort to address growing traffic congestion and air quality concerns, UPS (NYSE: UPS) and Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan today announced the deployment of an innovative downtown delivery pilot project using pedal-assist cargo eBikes and customized, modular trailers. The cargo eBikes will operate in the historic Pike Place Market and downtown Seattle area on sidewalks and in designated bike lanes.
