CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Duke Energy has been named to Forbes magazine’s 2018 list of the World’s Best Employers. Duke Energy is one of only nine electric utilities in the U.S. to make the list.
The ranking is based on Forbes’ 2018 Global 2000 rankings, which included publicly traded companies from 60 countries. Employees were asked to rate their own employer and the likelihood they would recommend the company to a friend or family member.

It was a sad time. My wife and I had tried to add to our family without success. It wasn’t an immediate decision, but we eventually decided to pursue adoption. From that moment, everything in our life changed.

Under Duke Energy’s new benefit – available to both mothers and fathers – an employee can start the six-week paid leave any time within the first 16 weeks after the birth, adoption or foster care placement of a child.
