The Players Trust provides valuable resources to an area so many Players call home

Through a partnership between the Major League Baseball Players Trust and the U.S. nonprofit Esperanza International, Major Leaguers are helping improve the lives of families across the Dominican Republic – a place so many Players call home.
Grants from the Players Trust help some of the Dominican Republic’s most vulnerable populations by supporting and funding Esperanza’s microfinance program and its water purification and distribution project.
Women comprise about half the world’s population yet about 75 percent of the people living in poverty. The Players Trust wants to do something about that.
Through its new partnership with Global Citizen’s “Live Below the Line” campaign, Major Leaguers are joining an effort to focus more awareness on the issue and help eradicate extreme poverty by 2030 but it has long been an issue close to the hearts of Major Leaguers.
