Hunger-Fighting Efforts are Part of World Kindness Day Celebrations

December 11, 2017 /3BL Media/ – During the season of giving, Sodexo-sponsored teams of volunteers at colleges and universities are giving back to others by assembling more than 37,000 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for hunger-relief organizations throughout the western United States. This is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to fighting hunger in the communities in which it operates.
Facilities management has long been a male-dominated career field. In fact, it may be even more lopsided than many other male-dominated fields: In facilities management (FM), men outnumber women in leadership roles by nine to one, according to a recent survey from the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources.
Every organization has a mix of assets on its balance sheet. These probably include infrastructure, human resources, financial assets, as well as some “intangibles.” The key to an organization’s success is getting the most value out of each one.
Do you blame the pollen count for your coughing, sneezing and stuffy nose? Do you track the pollen count and stay indoors on heavy pollen days? I hate to tell you, but the quality of air inside of buildings, where people spend about 90 percent of their time, is even more important to your health. Ironically, according to the EPA, indoor air can be two to five times more polluted—and in some cases up to 100 times more polluted—than outdoor air. This is a significant issue in schools, where exposure to allergens, such as dust mites, pests and molds can trigger asthma symptoms.
