GE Walks Its Talk on Sustainability, Says 2012 Sustainability Leadership Report

In the 2012 Sustainability Leadership Report from Brandlogic and CRD Analytics, AXA, Coca-Cola, Deustche Bank, EADS, General Electric and L’Oreal – companies that last year were not getting enough credit for their actual environmental, social and governance performance – have now earned reputations that match their relatively high sustainability achievements, according to a November 2012 Research Digest entry from CSR International.

While most large companies fall short of sustainability leadership, 10 including Ford, GE and Panasonic present best practices for other businesses to emulate, according to sustainability advisor Two Tomorrows.

Less than a third of the largest companies scored over 70 percent, the threshold for “sustainability leadership” in the 2012 Tomorrow’s Value Research (TVR), the firm’s annual assessment of corporate sustainability practices.

General Electric To Supply Wind Turbines To Turkey

General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) said that it would supply 43 turbines to  Fina Enerji Holding AS for wind projects in Turkey.

The wind projects will generate 97 megawatts of power which will be able to light up about 27,000 homes in Turkey. GE will supply the Kizilcaterzi wind farm, the Karadere park, the Sadilli project and the Salman venture in the nation’s west, according to a GE statement.

Turkey has plans to generate 20,000 megawatts of power via wind energy by 2013 from its current capacity of 1,800 MW now.

GE, Clean Energy Fuels Partner to Expand Natural Gas Highway
