#GivingTuesday is About Time and Talent Too

It’s #GivingTuesday, and we’re excited.

We’re excited for all the usual reasons: good nonprofits getting attention; people giving back; holiday cheer meaning more than Cyber Monday deals; and hey, it’s December 2 and not yet sleeting in New York! (At least not until this afternoon.)

Giving Tuesday

Have you noticed that Black Friday and Cyber Monday have now morphed together? And they now start the entire week before Thanksgiving? Some stores are even open on Thanksgiving Day now!

I’m not really complaining. I love a good deal. And shopping has always been one of my favorite pastimes.

But even I realize the irony. On the very day set aside to be thankful for what we already have, we are making plans to buy more.

Perhaps that’s why Giving Tuesday debuted two years ago. It’s a global initiative encouraging others to give back.
