Winners build healthy communities by tackling fitness, nutrition, literacy, and other pressing community health challenges
November 11, 2015 /3BL Media/ - GSK [LSE/NYSE: GSK] and United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey (UWGPSNJ) today announced the GSK IMPACT Award Winners in a ceremony at GSK’s Navy Yard site. Ten local nonprofits earned $40,000 each in recognition of their outstanding contributions to a healthier Philadelphia region.
We’re committed to improving the health and wellbeing of communities worldwide. In fact, in 2013, our global community investment totaled $347 million. And right now in the US, we are calling on local nonprofits throughout the Greater Philadelphia and Research Triangle (NC) Regions to apply for this year’s GSK IMPACT Awards.
A few months ago, I walked into our Philadelphia Navy Yard office and saw Deirdre Connelly, President, North America Pharmaceuticals President,with Renee Chenault-Fattah, a news anchor from NBC10, the Philadelphia NBC affiliate, on a stage in our atrium.
