As a part of the expansion, SNHU is partnering with The LA Galaxy Foundation to participate in three community initiatives during the course of the 2017 season.
Amgen employees from the Corporate Audit team at the Thousand Oaks, CA HQ volunteered at their local Habitat for Humanity. Not only did they learn valuable skills, they helped provide housing for families in need.
The home build celebrates the culmination of Habitat’s national campaign “Home is the Key”
ATLANTA, May 1, 2017 /3BL Media/ – Heisman Trophy winners Marcus Allen, Tony Dorsett, George Rogers, Charlie Ward and Danny Wuerffel joined Habitat for Humanity and Nissan to build a real “Heisman House” alongside future Atlanta Habitat homeowner Ms. Shannon. The legendary athletes and soccer legend, Pavel Pardo, also led youth football and soccer clinics in collaboration with Nissan and the Heisman Trophy Trust. This is the fifth consecutive year Nissan has collaborated with Heisman Trophy winners to help build a Habitat home.
Before partnering with Habitat for Humanity Metro Denver, in Colorado, Tanya couldn’t see foresee her daughters’ future. Now she can. She doesn’t know the details, but she does know this: “Their future is bright.”
The family’s present is brighter, too. “The girls are doing well in school,” Tanya says. “We sleep better at night. We laugh more. We play more.”
Living in a home safe enough for her children to play in the yard is something that Lanay and her family are still getting used to. It’s a good feeling.
“This is a new experience for all of us,” Lanay says. Her oldest daughter, Tomanique, 12, has been giving her new roller skates a test drive, and her brothers are learning to ride a bike and a scooter.
