H&M Releases its 12th Sustainability Report

April 10, 2014 /3BL Media/ - Today, H&M publishes its twelfth Conscious Actions Sustainability Report. Some of the highlights during 2013 are the launch of H&M´s roadmap for fair living wages, the first closed loop collection made with recycled material from collected garments and a doubling of the share of more sustainable cotton in the last two years.

H&M Partners With WWF To Reduce Water Impact and Help Endangered Species


The Swedish clothing retailer H&M began a partnership last year with World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to improve the company’s water stewardship. The partnership, part of WWF’s Water Stewardship initiative, will last three years. The company, which has 3,100 stores and 104,000 employees worldwide, had already worked with WWF for several years before launching the official partnership. Part of the partnership will include internal and external actions.

H&M Teams up with Civil Rights Defenders


H&M takes a clear stand for human rights and have teamed up with Civil Rights Defenders, a non-profit organization that works around the world to support human rights. During the three coming years we will donate 4 million SEK to support their work for human rights.

H&M Achieves Position of Leadership for Climate Change Action

The achievement is announced in the CDP Global 500 Climate Change Report 2013, which tracks how the world’s largest listed companies are responding to a changing climate.

Hennes & Mauritz AB (HMB) says it has a solution to tight cotton supplies and the piles of old garments choking landfills worldwide: convince consumers to recycle cast-offs by offering discounts on yet more clothing.

H&M Commits to the Fire and Building Safety Agreement

May 13, 2013 /3BL Media/ - Today H&M publicly commits to support the Accord on Fire and Building Safety in Bangladesh, initiated by IndustryALL Global Union and UNI Global Union. The parties will be committed to the goal of a safe and sustainable Bangladeshi Ready Made Garment (RMG) industry in which no worker needs to fear fires, building collapses or other accidents that could be prevented with reasonable health and safety measures. This commitment is an additional step in an already ambitious sustainability program at H&M.
